and so I caught the train to Paris at 11:02pm... Night train... I managed to get myself a sleeper... so it was fine. And we (ie: me and my bags) reached Paris at 6:44 in the morning.

Heh... I found subway in Paris! But i didn't bother to go check the prices though... probably not gonna be cheap...

Looks majestic right? It's the Gare du Nord, one of the 4 (i think) train stations that serves international trains. By the way, most of the other train stations have similar facades.
People walking towards the Metro. Paris is superbly well connected... from main train stations to Metro (MRT) lines, to smaller train stations that serves domestic trains. Their subway can be like a couple of storeys underground. And there are 14 lines in the Paris Metro. Slightly confusing at first, but there are clear signages that tells you where to switch to other lines and stuff. Got the hang of it quite easily...
Ok... I arrived at Paris l'Est, but I walked to Gare du Nord to get my map and stuff cause the tourist information counter was there.... and I took the Metro from Gare du Nord to Paris St Lazare station where I was supposed to take the train to Rouen.
I was early at St Lazare, so I decided to walk around.
That's a map of St Lazare - you can just make out the words on the signboard... Heh.. wanted to go and take a closer look to see if there are any nice places to walk to... but they put rubbish bins in front of it... Like...
So I just wandered around rather aimlessly... and I saw this Church. (or Kirche in German). It's Church of St Augustine if I didn't get it wrong...
And yep! Finally back to St Lazare where I would catch my train.

And ya... the interior of the church. I've been to a few churches since I arrived and the feeling of calm and serenity I feel whenever I enter one never fails to amaze me. I'm not sure if it's psychological or what... but I do like it.

Heh... Rouen Rive Droite - where Wanling Hotel is located! It's about 1 hour from Paris...
Scenery from the train...
Anyway, I took a nap after arriving... since Wanling had class... And after class, we walked to Carrefour - which was about 30 to 45 mins away to get groceries for the next few days. Heh.. we decided to pack food and stuff - things like sandwiches, pasta, hard boil eggs...

Saw dandelions clocks and nice cute flowers along the way... Hahaha.. couldn't resist blowing one. Hey.. I'm helping them spread the seed so that more can grow k!
And ta-da!!! Carrefour!!! It is HUGE!!! And like the ones in Singapore... has everything... It's located in a rather out-skirtish place... Heard from Wanling that most Carrefours are like that cause of its size. It's seriously just one huge building with a lot of parking space.

Heh... our shopping... :) Everywhere in Europe is so environmentally friendly (ok.. at least Switz, France and Constance). People just bring their own shopping bags...
